About

Higham Way Baptist Church has been a part of the Burbage and Hinckley community since the 1950’s. We are a warm and welcoming church committed the serving Christ within the community God has placed us in.

Our Church is a place for:

  • Celebrating life
  • Exploring your faith or seeking to find out more
  • Developing relationships
  • Reflecting on our world and God’s place in it
  • Worship through song, prayer and the teaching of the Word of God

At present we have a mainly elderly congregation, but one that is open to change and moving forward.    We would describe ourselves as a Bible-based and caring community.   Due to our size and resources, we have a mix of live and recorded music for worship.  The church has a good projection system, allowing everything to be displayed on screen.

We serve refreshments both prior to and after the service and our setup is based around a café style, which is made possible by the church being multi functional.

We have good relationships with the local community, local council and community leaders.

Our doors are open to everyone so come and say hello, we don’t just have events and activities happening on a Sunday but throughout the week and year.

Every Tuesday we run our Community Pantry, supporting people/families in food poverty.

Alongside this we hold our Warm Welcome from 9.00 – 12.00 where refreshments are served and people can come and feel part of the community at Higham Way.

Twice a month, first and third Tuesdays we provide a hot meal – this is either soup and a roll or baked potatoes or bacon/sausage cobs alongside a pudding.

Our parent/carer baby and toddler group is held every Wednesday, during term time from 9 – 11.15 am. Numbers vary so we would ask you to message us first to check availability. We tend to be quite structured in our morning programme which works well for those who attend.

Thursdays sees us hosting another Warm Welcome activity – this is our Crafty Cuppa group for anyone who wants to come and share refreshments, join in a craft, bring their own craft or just be amongst friends. This is from 10.30 – 12.00.

On Fridays we go along to Higham Way House for a coffee morning from 11.00 onwards. Everyone is welcome to join us there.

We would love to see you at one, some or any of this activities – we welcome you to our Community Hub activities.
